Piano Tuning

Runnymede Pianos, Tuning

"Our last piano tuner told us that our piano was untunable, with a bit of work Toby Johnson has bought it back to concert pitch and it has never sounded so good" â€‹                               (Shepperton)

I mainly tune pianos within twenty miles of woking obviously further from Woking demands a higher fee.

Piano tuning should be done at least once a year minimum but ideally every six months.   Having restored some early pianos I am not afraid to tune much older wooden framed pianos, these may require tuning every three months.

Pianos which get extensive use such as in schools, hotels, bars, ships etc should be tuned every more frequently.

When I tune a piano I always check and tweak minor adjustments to the action which I may find as part of the tuning,  I also ensure that every piano is at the correct pitch and will advise when a piano may not be tuned to concert pitch due to its age and or design.

Being a restorer and understanding older pianos I have also tuned many pianos which other tuners have said could not be tuned and with a regular tuning programme I have got many of them holding tune for six months.
