A Highly Trained Piano Specialist
Runnymede Pianos is run by Toby Johnson, a piano specialist with extensive professional training and lifelong musical experience. Toby undertook his first repair at the age of 15 years old having gained work in a local piano shop, Toby then trained at The London College of Furniture and later at Steinway & Sons in London, before getting to work with some highly regarded technicians gaining in-depth knowledge of piano construction, restoration, and performance standards.
This rare combination of dedicated passion for the piano, technical expertise and musical sensitivity allows Toby to approach every piano as both a craftsman and a musician. Whether tuning, repairing, refurbishing, restoring, preparing pianos for concerts at Wembley Stadium, the focus is always on achieving the best possible sound, touch, and reliability from each instrument.
